Designed by Tom Sachs and NikeCraft, the Mars Yard 3.0 fuses aerospace engineering, rugged utility, and visionary design, bringing the next evolution of the cult-favorite silhouette to life. With new materials, enhanced performance details, and a rollout tied to the ISRU (In-Situ Resource Utilization) challenge program, this sneaker is as much about the story and discipline behind it as it is about style.OverviewThe NikeCraft Mars Yard 3.0 is a striking evolution of the Mars Yard 1.0 (2012) and 2.0 (2017), preserving the natural, earthy aesthetic that has defined the series—neutral tones, off-white mesh, tan suede overlays, maple, sport red, and sail hues — while upgrading nearly every component. It features new tooling: a React foam midsole for cushioning, a natural rubber outsole for durability, a carbon fiber shank for support, TPU toe and heel clips for protection and stability, oversize eyelets and staggered, blucher-style eyestay, and a lace keeper matched with a heel donning strap. The lightweight, open mesh upper and re-engineered lacing system improve fit across varied foot shapes. The packaging has also been reworked to be reusable, underscoring Tom Sachs’s design philosophy of durability and sustainability.Retailing at $275 USD, the style code is IF2885-100, and the official colorway is Natural / Sport Red / Maple / Sail. The Mars Yard 3.0 becomes available to the public via select retailer drops and requires participation in the ISRU Challenge program via the NikeCraft ISRU app to gain eligibility.
